When news broke through the buzz on social media platforms and several radio stations that had gotten grip of the sudden and mysterious death of singer, Emma Mayanja alias AK47, many of his relatives and friends rushed to Nsambya hospital where he was rushed.
Ragga Dee, the God father of Uganda’s music industry got hold of the news late in the night so instead of travelling to the hospital, he travelled to seguku Katale to the official Mayanja’s home. Notably however, instead of using one of his many monster/ sleek cars for transport there, he jumped onto a motorcycle he rode to Seguku Katale.
It was a somewhat astonishing act that elicited praise for Ragga Dee. Many saw him as a hero who really genuinely was dumb struck by the death of such a promising talent and thus, rode to Seguku on a motorcycle at 4:30 am, on Tuesdaymorning. The pictures taken of him however tell a different story. In many of them, it looks like he anticipated them and thus, posed for them. In some, he is seen clearly throwing a smile, the kind of smile that says, “hold up, I got this”. It said a lot of things that smile, but grieving was none of them. Something that questions whether or not it was a public stunt seeing as he had been out of the media for a while.
Those that witnessed his arrival were heard questioning the use of the motorcycle as they cited that at that time, there was no jam on the road so he could use his cars and still get there in time. “He wanted his arrival to be noticed, otherwise why would he come on a motorcycle. A man of his caliber can’t fail to raise money for fuel” a friend to the Mayanja’s said at the time of his arrival.
