Pallaso has social media and his American slangs as weapons to fight his seemingly endless battles.
We know so, because, of course, we’ve had a share of his hot temper. Many are however yet to taste the wrath of his American English. The latest to test his venom are the organizers of the annual Hipipo music awards who perhaps inadvisedly smuggled his name onto a list of this year’s best afro pop nominees, pitting him against fellow ex-Team-No-Sleep member, shebbah, Irene Ntale, Bigeye, Aziz Azion and Eddy Kenzo.
Whereas other nominees are beating drums and painting social media with positive updates regarding their nomination, Pallaso is doing otherwise. He wants to be dissociated with the awards urgently and he relayed a directive through his Facebook on Thursday.
“I have been nominated in the Hipipo music awards for best Afro Pop song which is‪ #‎Kona‬!! I want to let you all my fans know that these awards are very biased and they are aiming at discrediting very hard working artists and bring them down while they value others that are willing to kiss their asses !! Please don’t vote for me in these awards and I kindly beg the organizing committee to take me out of this evil and please don’t ever nominate me or involve my name again until you fix your shit and make it free and fair,” his post reads in part.
He further cements his point by bragging about his potential to avail cow milk to his little son regularly. Forgive our so called king for boasting of small achievements, there’s probably limited choice; no hit song, no house, no BET award, there’s only milk to pride of.
“it’s a digital world and people are not dumb any more.. They can definitely see that you guys are making fools out your selves !! They asked me to perform at the award ceremony for free and ever since I said No it seems like I’m at war but my fans got my back ..My son drinks milk !! I don’t value them simply because they don’t value me but wanna use me to bring me down !! Twatoba has been a great song this year with a very successful concert but to them NAHHHHHHH !! Tanzanians and Kenyans are busy working and leaving us behind simply because their people have learnt to love their own with no mixed emotions !! I work so hard for my fans and these stupid awards can’t make me or break me !! Thanks to all you that love and support my music with good intentions.. No money in the world can stop me from doing the only thing I know and I won’t stop dreaming big even though these lunatics keep on dragging me back to small dreams!!”
In his opinion, the song “Kona” wasn’t his strongest this year. He insists that the song he launched at freedom city dubbed Twatoba was the strongest. A stance that has been validated by a number of musical critiques. With many citing that this might be a deliberate attempt by the management of the Hi-pipo awards to disregard his immense musical growth for the past two years.
“He has morphed from the Lizard we knew to a promising musical brand that can make it past the local scene and into international glory” said a musical critique.
