The league Champions, Vipers Sports Club edged Enyimba Stars from Nigeria 1-0 at Nakivubo War memorial stadium, Kampala last Friday in the first leg of the CAF Champions league preliminary round.

Following the move of their best player Miya Farouk to Standard LIEGE of Belgium, and the absence of injured players, Shafik Bakaki and Isma Watenga , they were expected to have a limping performance. But as new head coach, George Best Nsimbe had earlier projected, they had players who comfortably fitted those gaps to orchestrate a comfortable win.

Striker cum winger, Erisa Ssekisambu scored the lone strike less than 20 minutes to full time to give the home side a resounding lead over Nigeria’s reigning league champions.

The Cranes striker got the Enyimba defence flat footed after a Keziron Kizito assist to shoot past goalkeeper Theophilus Afelokai.
