The table leaders KCCA FC yesterday widened their points a gap when they beat their rivals URA Fc 3-1 at Nakivumbo stadium on Tuesday, at the start of the second round of the Uganda premier league.
Assistant captain and national team left back Joseph Ochaya, Paul Mucureezi and Muzamilu Mutyaba’s performance and goals gave KCCA FC the win they deserved over the URA FC side.
The hosts did not create many chances in the first half and the only chance they got was through Mutyaba who shot but was denied by URA FC goal keeper, Timothy Bwete in the first 45 minutes.
Robert Sentongo and Peter Lwasa would have put the visitors in the lead early in the first half but KCCA FC goal keeper Benjamin Ochan denied them as he was alert for a good part of the game
It was a good show after the break as in the 50th minute, Ochaya put the hosts in the lead after a powerful strieked free kick awarded to the hosts when Muzamilu Mutyaba was brought down.
Paul Mucuurezi added on the tally 8 minutes after Ochaya’s goal to make it two nil for KCCA FC after a cross set from Ceaser Okhuti.
League top scorer went to ten goals through taking a penalty after Nicholas Kagaba was fouled in the box.
URA FC’s hopes of equalizing the game were stopped when Muzamiru Mutyaba scored the third goal for KCCA FC to seal the game.
The last whistle left KCCA FC on top of the table with 32 points.
