NTV Be My Date show host; Bettina Tianah is another testament of the adage; “Not all that glitters is Gold”. On Monday, during Talent Africa’s Women’s Day Show at Club Play, she was stood up by whoever was supposed to buy her drinks that night.

We watched her clock in a few minutes shy of 11:00pm. Like any other girl waiting for her date, she ordered her first drink. A glass of white wine which was handed to her shortly after pitching camp at the entrance of the V.I.P section. With it nestled in one hand, and her phone in the other, she attempted to enjoy the night but failed. Because, heck, there wouldn’t be a second white wine glass without a buyer. Her eyes, beaten sloppily with a thousand layers of mascara, darted towards the entrance of the club ever so frequently, presumably eying the moneybags who was supposed to make it rain drinks that night. He never came. And as such, Bettina was left alone, with her phone as the only confidant. She confided in it, and probably told it about the sorrows of coming to a bar on other people’s bills. She took a selfie, looked towards the door, and then took a thousand more. She braved the cold night alone, and managed to sneak in a few friends who also looked like they were waiting for the same savior who never showed up. She left the bar in the morning looking exhausted yet she hadn’t been partying. Her lips looked scaly, and her gothic makeup didn’t help matters.

Well Bettina, we just pray he shows up next time.
