For the past couple of weeks, a number of Ugandans in the diaspora joined arms to criticize the Tubonga Nawe artists. The latest to join them is Ugandan musician, Zani Lady C, based in Los Angeles California, who today posted a video of herself criticizing the Tubonga Nawe artists on Youtube.

The video has the female vocalist sitting in her kitchen, and a male interviewer in the background asking her questions about a range of Ugandan political matters. We don’t know why they (the you tube channel where the video was posted) chose her to answer those questions. Why the male voice in the background, for instance, asks her questions that paint her as an authority on Ugandan political matters. But her arguments are largely informed by concern.

She answers many questions with authority and statistics, and carelessly misses some. The advice that musicians affiliated to the Tubonga Nawe campaign should talk to their fans and understand their plight, however, stands out like the proverbial sore thumb. She urges many of the artists to create a bridge between the fans and their politicians if they are ever to steal back their favor.

This information comes at a time when most of the artists affiliated to the Tubonga Nawe song are in fear. Their darts at organizing concerts are thus thrust in jeopardy. Gagamel boss, Moses Ssali alias Bebe Cool cancelled his famous annual concert, the East African Carnival that happens on Easter for fear that the masses he has been bashing on his Facebook page might choose to stay home and watch pirated copies of the presidential debate as opposed to coming to Kiwatule Recreation Centre to hear him half sing and mostly talk about the acquisitions he has garnered as a reward of being affiliated to the Tubonga Nawe campaign. Joseph Mayanja alias Jose Chameleone on the other side of the sea, has taken the fear thing to a whole new level. He has vowed not to organize a concert any time soon. A reason Zani Brown alias Lady C, (she’s probably yet to come up with another alias) probably deems it plausible to advice them on this video.
