Even without a recent hit, reggae singer Madoxx is the type to hold his forte with a sell-out show.
The controversial singer, who has endured a topsy-turvy music career, is slowly rising from the doldrums. With s steady progress in sight, he has made a grand announcement.
Madoxx will be performing in a VVIP show dubbed “Return of the Champion” on Good Friday at Imperial Royale. For a singer, whose voice is bigger than his persona, Madoxx has gone for the kill. Tables are going for sh1m while individual tickets are being sold at sh500,000. “He is one of the best people to happen to the live music scene. He is a performer who will guarantee value for money,” an organizer said.
The organiser insists that there are many fans that are nostalgic about Madoxx’ music so it is foolhardy to write the singer off. There will be subsequent shows in Mukono and Entebbe.
Madoxx, who has two albums to his name, Tukolagane and Abato, is popular for songs like “Namagembe”, “Tukolagane”, “Omukwano Gwafe”, “Eddembe”, “Nakatudde”, and “Easy” among others. He only recently listened to counsel to shoot videos for his songs, which received immense applause.
After a 16 year lull, it is as well the real Madoxx stood up to be counted.
