Yesterday, the Buganda Land Board officials showed ghetto president Bobi wine (Sentamu Kyagulanyi) that when it comes to issues concerning land, its’ a no -joking subject.
A portion of his One Love Beach was razed as police led by the area Police commander, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) John Garvin provided protective cover. His parking lot and a chunk of the beach were razed as Bobi Wine and his cronies looked on.
Bobi Wine is being accused of encroaching on land which he is aware doesn’t belong to him. He is allegedly using his closeness to the Mengo hierarchy to do as he pleases, even though it has put him on a collision course with neighbours in Busabala, Wakiso district.
“He has many cases and issues with area people even the police is fed up of him,” an area councillor told The Kampala Sun.

An official from Buganda Land Board (BLB) denied reports that the entire beach is to be razed. He says that Bobi Wine is accused of illegally and forcefully trying to occupy an adjacent piece of land and annex it to his beach.
The BLB official said in part; “There is a rumour that Bobi Wine’s beach was demolished yesterday. That isn’t true. What was demolished was an adjacent piece of land to Bobi Wine’s beach which Bobi Wine had tried to forcefully and illegally occupy.
Bobi had been warned several times not to plant grass and trees beyond his official beach but he refused. This particular piece of land was even blocking access to other people’s land.
The land lord had the right to stop Bobi Wine’s impunity and ensure that other people who own land in that area have access. There is no money that Bobi Wine paid for this part of land he was illegally occupying. However, Bobi Wine can go to court and seek redress.
Bobi Wine has forgiven his tormentors and left it to God.

In a taped interview, Bobi wine said what happened is a pity considering he had invested in that land for the past five years. “ It is a pity. I invested for five years . I’m out of words and I have chosen to keep quiet,” he said.
According to Bobi Wine, he doesn’t know where their anger came from and thinks it was unwarranted. “ I don’t know how I wronged them. I have no plans.. my situation is like when your dad breaks your arm and you cannot report them to police. I’m hurt but I leave it to God..” Bobi Wine said.
