Legendary radio personality Alex Ndawula, whose two- decade stint at Capital FM came to an end yesterday (Friday), isn’t about to quit radio.
Latest news coming in indicates that he is slated to join Ntinda based Jazz FM, where he will link up with a familiar face and former Capital FM co-presenter Christine Mawadri.
Ndawula was among the pioneer FM radio presenters shortly after liberalization of the industry. He started his career at Sanyu FM in 1993 together with the late Allan Mugisa popularly known as Allan the Cantakerous and Christine Mawadri.
Although it was initially rumoured that Ndawula would occasionally pop in at Capital FM to provide consultancy, we can confirm his move to Jazz FM.
However, sources say this will only come immediately as one of the conditions for his retirement is that he is not to join any radio station until a specified time.
Since it rebranded two years ago, Jazz FM has grown in stature with a substantial part of the population already into jazz. That Ndawula will seamlessly fit in isn’t a matter of debate.
