Independent Candidate Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine has been released after a brief confinement at Kira Police Station.
The singer was briefly detained at Kasangati police station and later transferred after his fans threatened to torch the Police station.
According to Kampala Metropolitan Police commander Frank Mwesigwa, he defied their order not to hold a rally at the Kyadondo Ssaza grounds, a couple of meters from where President Museveni was locked in consultative meeting with the NRM team canvassing votes for candidate Sitenda Sebalu.

“It was a small issue over the venue where he held his rally. We have agreed with him on the new venue and he is going to stage his rally,” he said.
Following his release, candidate Kyagulanyi revealed that the gentleman in him wouldn’t abet any confrontation and he asked his fans to desist from any acts of violence that would sabotage their final campaign rally, which has since been transferred to Gayaza.
Bobi Wine has increasingly become a threat to both the FDC and NRM candidates
Today (Tuesday) is the last day of campaigns as voters wait for 29th June (Thursday) to cast their vote.
Kyadondo East constituency has over the years been known as FDC stronghold until Bobi Wine joined the race giving Apollo Kantinti and bloody nose.
