He spent his formative music years in the diaspora, but with the prowess of reggae musicians on the wane (his words), Disun Future (real names Emmanuel Mubiru Disun), is back in the country to shape the reggae destiny.
For an artiste who has performed at reggae festivals in Germany, Jamaica, Sweden and Norway, Future believes that Reggae music isn’t getting the attention it deserves, and thinks local singers like Bebe Cool, Madoxx Sematimba and Henry Tigan have gone off the boil.
“I have the experience, exposure and knowledge. I have the potential to rule the reggae scene in Uganda but more importantly, give Reggae the acclaim it deserves. Madoxx is good but age is not on his side while only God knows what happened to Henry Tigan,” he says.
Known for songs like Gulawo, Black Red Yellow, Mama Africa, and Never Let me down, the Ntinda-Born artiste is known for his guttural voice and high energy performances. He jets into the country soon and we shall wait to see if he will walk his talk.
