You could have heard the song playing in night clubs but did not know the artiste. Tarrus Riley will be performing in Kampala and that hit song will be on the line up. Best known for the song Just The Way You Are. The American born Jamaican is acclaimed reggae songs like Gimme Likkle One Drop, She’s Royal, Don’t Come Back, and his latest Sorry is a Sorry Word.
Riley jets in in December with a 12 man band and will perform alongside Uganda’s reggae maestro Maddox Ssematimba at Lugogo Cricket Oval. Born April 26, 1979 in Bronx, New York, Riley was raised in Jamaica. In 2004 Riley released his debut album titled Challenges and the 38-year-old has some accolades to him name like; Best Singer, Male Vocalist, Cultural Artiste, Song of the Year, and Best Song from institutions such as the Youth View Awards, The Star People’s Choice Awards, EME Awards, and the Reggae Academy.
Riley also the holder of Jamaica’s CVM TV’s 15th Anniversary Award, for the ‘Most Admired Song in the Past 15 Years’ for the hit “She’s Royal”. He has collaborated with legendary artiste like Konshens- Good Girl Gone Bad, Shaggy- Just Another Girl and has featured on several tracks by Major Lazer.
