The Zimba Women Technology for Business Summit is back following a successful inaugural event last year. On Friday last week, Sherrifah Tumusiime who is the brains behind the summit announced this year’s dates at a press conference at Innovation Village Ntinda.
The summit will last two days at Sheraton Hotel on November 15 and 16.
Sherrifah said this year’s theme is, harnessing opportunities of global trade to empower the African woman. “Last year, our theme inspired women to join business, use IT to grow. We achieved remarkable success and now we are building from it. This year is about opportunities,” she told the press.
Sometime last month there was word that Facebook’s C.O.O, Sheryl Sanberg would grace the event. At the press conference, Sherry said Facebook is going to send someone but hasn’t placed a name. Facebook is one of the key sponsors for the summit.
Zimba Women is a flagship project of Zimba Group, one of the leading IT solutions provider specializing in provision of technical and software solutions for small and medium enterprises.
“The summit will not be just about talk, we’ll have an exhibition and a mentorship programming among other things,” she disclosed.
Sherrifah co-founded Zimba with her friend, Peace Kuteesa.
