Hundreds of revelers thronged Kabira Country Club on Saturday for the annual Christmas carnival. The carnival which was organized by the hotel attracted revelers from all walks of life, both young and old.
Racheal Barungi, a staff at the hotel, said the carnivore was organized to give Ugandans a perfect start to the Christmas Season and an ideal occasion to get all their Christmas gifts.
Indeed, hundreds of entrepreneurs booked space at the artisan market and food stalls to make some good money. The artisan market had all kinds of artifacts including paintings, African print, jewellery and sculptures. The food stalls also had different kinds of delicatessen.
There was also entertainment for children including a supervised play center, with kids’ playground, jumping castle, face painting, and lots more. The Blues Excuse band entertained revelers with live music all day long.
The carnivore that started at 11am went up to evening culminating into a grand raffle. Diana Isabirye a reveler said she came over to have a good time. “We are entering the Christmas season and this is the perfect start to the season. There is a lot going on and believe me, am lost for choice,” said Isabirye.
Peter Sejjobwe, an artist who came in with his art pieces said he harbored no regrets booking space at the carnival. “The day has been good, I have made some good money and am not complaining,” he said.
