Outspoken TOP Radio morning show presenter, Richard Kasule, popularly known as Kamagu was today morning and whisked to Wandegeya Police station.
Kasule was picked up police officers who forced him to board a police patrol vehicle.
Police confirmed Kamagu’s arrest saying he is being held over “irresponsible talk.”
Emilian Kayima, the police spokesperson said Kamagu had uttered some irresponsible statements while on air, which led to his arrest.
“It was because of his reckless mouth and irresponsible talk,”he said.
“We have cautioned him and many others on a number of occasions but he has not heeded to the warning.”
During his Monday morning show, Kamagu and co-host Mubiru lamented at the level of corruption that has crept in Police. He went ahead to confirm that the police director in charge of Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) AIGP Amos Ngabirano had fled the force and is presently in exile after stealing billions.
Kamagu, who seemed sympathetic to the plight of the IGP Kale Kayihura, who he said is surrounded by thieves’, spent time on air, declaring Muhammed Kirumira a hero.
The jailed former DPC for Buyende is presently jailed at Nalufenya and Kamagu dedicated a Bebe Cool song, In Prison for No reason to Kirumira, equating him to Nelson Mandela.
Kamagu’s arrest comes barely a fortnight when New Vision investigative journalist Charles Etukuri was kidnapped by unknown people.

According to his workmates, men dressed in army uniforms brandishing guns arrested Etukuri before taking off with him to an unknown destination

It is suspected that Etukuri is being held in a safe house in the areas of Kyengera.
