Uganda’s biggest comedy export, Patrick Salvador Idringi has set out to unearth a new crop of comic talent.
In an industry laden with profanities and toilet humour, which have since passed on for comedy, Idringi hopes to restore sanity by unearthing professional comedians through the search.
The ‘Man from Ombokolo’ on Thursday put pen to paper with Next Media at Media Plaza, Kamwokya, on a journey that will see them unearth and judge comic talent in a show.
The event seeks to develop and revive the comedy industry and also act as a spring-board for the eventual winners to launch their local and international careers.
He took to Instagram to reveal his joy. “Dreams do come true.. This is a show I’ve been chasing for the past 2yrs.. Special thanks to @nbstelevision for the partnership.. Let’s make history… Searching for the next Ugandan Comic.. Male or Female.. The search is on.. Details on how to be a part of this search coming soon,” he wrote.
