After a while in the doldrums, tycoon and philanthropist Cameroon Gitawo (real names Charles Mbibo) has bounced back as a sports philanthropist.
Gitawo who was nicknamed Uganda’s Floyd Mayweather by his peers because of spending similarities was last in the county where he organized the Money and Gold Party on 30th December 2017 at Guvnor.
We have learnt that under his label, The Money Team (TMT), Cameroon Gitawo has solely funded the RM Power lifting Championship & Cross Fit’ set for Kabira Country Club in Bukoto on Saturday.
Besides giving the organizer, Roy Mubiru prize money for the winners, he also bought medals and trophies for the championship.

Gitawo says he is busy with his projects in South Africa especially the schools and as a result he is unlikely to attend the powerlifting championship, which he has solely funded. “I am a sports man and a fitness freak. I am humbled to lend a hand to what is a growing sport in the country,” Gitawo said on phone.
Roy Mubiru expressed gratitude at the helping hand. He says he will not rest until the sport is popularised among youth in Uganda. The last time the championship was held in Naalya, it attracted only three participants. He is looking at many more. “We are grateful for the medals for different discipline winners and the money,” he said.
Roy’s dream is to have former World Champion, Arnold Schwarzenegger to visit the country in future events.
