For over the past years media personalities have been known to be vibrant politically due to their fame. However, following the 21 century, the later has also engulfed entertainers including musicians and comedians not only in Uganda but across the globe. On a try and fail basis, many entertainers have ended up enjoying big political positions and privileges, which have also enticed other silent but vibrant musicians to show up their political interests.
In analysis, more musicians are being drawn to politics, and we can guess the inspiration comes from singer turned politician, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine. Eagle’s Production boss, Geoffrey Lutaaya is preparing himself to run for a political office in the near future. Lutaaya has enrolled for a short-course in computer and plans to further his studies at Makerere University.
He says he has made some money, built a home and a family from his music career and he wants to serve the people of Kyotera in the next parliamentary elections. Dr Hilderman is also another musician who has shown interest in running for a political office. Among others include: Ronald Mayinja (Gomba), Catherine Kusaasira Wakiso district woman MP), Among others.
