The appeasement policy was one of a kind employed by European’s greatest, Napoleon Bonaparte 1 as a tool to appreciate the hardworking personalities. The exercise went viral and globe and today our Media industry is one of the kind walking in the footsteps of the legend.
While talking to our credible sources, the ACME Executive Director Peter Mwesige said that the expiry of the December 2017 framework under which the event was financially boasted has halted this year’s celebrations of the Ugandan Media excellence.
Information reaching our entertainment desk perhaps indicates that the Annual Journalists’ Gala has been postponed to a date which is not yet known. The gala aims to celebrate media personalities who excel well in playing their roles that ranges from reporting to informing the general public on the current state of the economy and among other circles of great concern.
The gala was launched four years ago and the awards are organized by the African Center for Media Excellence in partnership with Democratic Government facility, to focus on the mail stone attained by Ugandan journalists ahead of the obstacles faced which among them include brutality by police, enormous financial and political pressure, temptations, to mention but a few.
“Following the expiry in December 2017 of the framework under which the awards process was previously funded, the event has been halted though journalists who submitted their entries of their good works will be recognized on the 3oth of September 2018,” stated the ACME Executive Director Peter G. Mwesige.
We are yet to ascertain the new date for the awards ceremony.
