Uganda Telecom last monday donated a number of assorted items to the women at Bakateyamba Home in Nalukolongo, in commemoration of International Women’s Day
Speaking at the event, UTL Public Relations Officer, Tonny Achidria Remarked; “Women’s Day is day to celebrate the achievements and acknowledge the plight of women in society. At Uganda Telecom, we understand that not all women are in privileged positions and yet women play an important role in nurturing society. We have brought with us assorted items, ranging from food stuffs, bathroom/Hygienic appliances and personal effects that will help in running the day to day activities of this home.”
He added: “Our gesture is not so much about the physical items that we have brought with us, but about the feeling that we need to share, spend some time with you; and show that as a company, we at UTL care about society.”
Uganda telecom, as a proudly Ugandan brand opted to reach out and offer support to the Bakateyamba, first as a gesture to appreciate the work that the Home is doing, and secondly to lead by example and call onto other entities to also show their support to the less privileged women.
