The success of singer Leila Kayondo’s music career has, for a while now, been shrouded in the fact that most of her hit songs have been collaborations. And consequently, the female vocalist (who has been on the same songs as Ugandan musical big-wigs like Chameleone) has received heavy criticism for being reluctant to channel the same prowess to her own music. News however reaching her desk has it that she’s yet to change that.
According to a source, the female diva has revamped her production process with the aim of doubling the effort she has been putting in.
“She is a talented artist, no doubt. Her vocals are a force to reckon with. But even when most of her songs come off as effortless, it has always been clear that with a little more effort, she’d finally hit the mark,” said our source.
Sources reveal that the artist’s latest song; Manifesto is the first of such projects. The video to her song was shot by Savvy Filmz Sasha Vybz and that the premier will be held on 8th April at Guvnor.
News from her camp dictates that she is ecstatic and as such, has taken to doing rigorous rehearsals in preparation for the premiere of the song; Manifesto.
