A comparison between BET Award winner, Eddy Kenzo and David Lutalo has been going for a while now. Reports have been swirling that the two were billed for a music battle. Word had it that Kenzo had asked for a staggering amount of about 150M from Abitex promotions, the organizers of the battle, whereas Lutalo settled for only 50M. The Kampala Sun can reliably reveal the battle will not happen as Kenzo pulled out of the arrangement.
“Abitex found it a pain in the butt to dish 50M to only Kenzo yet there were other costs to cover. Kenzo refused to reduce his price. And was inclined to pull out,” a source privy to the arrangements told us.
In a twist of events, it has also emerged that the Sitya Loss hit maker has snatched David Lutalo’s former Manager, Derrick Orone. Orone has been Lutalo’s music manager for the past many years. He, however, fell out with him recently after the singer accused him of misallocating funds.
Kenzo, sources reveal, has now added Orone to his management team. He made the announcement through his social media platform (Facebook)
“Introducing to you New Manager, Derrick, Kati saw yakola (Time to work)” he wrote
The new development comes at a time when Kenzo is gearing for his forthcoming concert slated for September 2.
