Liverpool winger Sadio Mane is on his way back to Merseyside after Senegal were knocked out of the African Cup of Nations.
Mane has yet to touch down in England and Klopp said he would not make a decision until he met the player in person.
‘I don’t know exactly,’ said Klopp.
‘Ray Haughan and our team management did an outstanding job to bring him back as soon as possible and he is now on his way.’
Mane was expected back on Sunday, but Liverpool’s efforts to hire a private jet were frustrated.
Liverpool face Chelsea in just over 24 hours, but Mane will not return until Monday night. Jurgen Klopp has refused to rule Sadio Mane out of the clash.
‘We had the plane there but he was not allowed to go in the plane and we had to wait to get him from A to B,’ said Klopp.
‘I spoke to him and it is all good so far.
‘We will be in tomorrow morning and I will make a decision.
‘I will have to look into his eyes and see if it is possible.’
