Quantum Logistics, a company owned by Matthew Kanyamunyu was closed by URA last week. The closure was over debt in taxes. A credible source confirms the rumor.

“It is true that the company was closed last week over an unpaid debt of sh12.9m. Initially, the debt was 25.9 million inclusive of V.A.T. There was a memorandum of understanding between the Uganda Revenue Authority and the company and they agreed to pay in installments before February this year. When the memorandum expired, the Authority tried to talk to company representatives for a way forward but sadly, there was no response so it was closed down” shared a credible source who preferred anonymity.
Matthew Kanyamunyu is accused of the murder of Kenneth Akena that took place in November last year.
The closure of Kanyamunyu’s company was perhaps a preamble for the closure of Andrew Rugasira’s African Coffee over a sh1.2 tax debt.
