Nyakasura School alumni in golf, football fundraiser

Nyakasura School alumni are set for a charity golf and football fundraiser this weekend (Saturday) in the western town of Fort Portal.
Spearheaded by prominent old boys Patrick Bitature, Stephen Kasaija and David Kihumuro, the events intend to provide a platform to raise funds and awareness about the ongoing fundraising campaign to refurbish Nyakasura School. The fundraising drive seeks to raise sh1.5b. The golf and football events will precede a fundraising dinner to be held on November 24, 2017 at Kampala Serena Hotel.

Prominent Old boy Patrick Bitature is among those who have spearheaded the fundraiser

“I call upon all the willing and able OBs and OGs and friends of Nyakasura School to attend and where possible make a small contribution to this initiative of reviving the school to its past standing and glory,” said Patrick Bitature, the Nyakasura Alumni Association Chairman and owner of Simba Group.
Already confirming participation in the golf event to be hosted by Tooro Golf Club is former Uganda Open runner-up Stephen Kasaija, also an OB of Nyakasura School.
Other notable participants will be the Kaboha brothers Sylvan and Nimrod, who excelled across various sports disciplines countrywide in the 1990s.
Other notable Old boys expected include Justice Seth Manyindo, Justice Herbert Ntabgoba, Justice Steven Kavuma, Justice Patrick Tabaro and recently appointed Justice Richard Butera and Justice Paul Mugamba.
Hon. Adolf Mwesige, the Minister of Defense, Prof. Edward Rugumayo, Amb. Crispus Kiyonga (China envoy), Mr. Hannington Karuhanga, Maj. John Kazoora, Hon. Jaberi Bidandi Ssali, Maj. Gen Benon Biraaro, Hon. Tim Lwanga, Hon. Beatrice Kiraso, Prof. Abdu Kasozi, Prof. Steven Tickodri-Togboa Gen. David Sejusa and journalists Mr. Timothy Kalyegira and Mr. Andrew Mwenda are also expected to play either football or golf.
