Ykee Benda thrills at Listener’s party

    Singer Ykee Benda hosted his fans at an up-close affair last Saturday night at Fame Lounge, Kampala. At the Kireka Boy Album Listener’s Party sponsored by Bell Lager, the fine new kid on the local music block took his fans through his music journey.

    2017 has been a good year for the young star, as a number of his songs have dominated airwaves, nightclubs and events. The Kireka city suburb-raised singer served his audience to a lineup of 17 songs he has so-far produced throughout two-year career. The songs makeup his debut album Kireka Boy.

    But before that, a documentary played, telling Benda’s (real names: Wycliff Tugume) music journey, the day-to-day hustles to breakthrough in the rather competitive and crowded industry.

    Also, throughout the night he thanked various people who have contributed to his arguably promising career. Starting with Bashir Lukyamuzi who he credited for discovering his talent and supporting him take it. Among the audience were MP Robert Kyagulanyi (Bobi Wine) and Bebe Cool, both of whom the singer invited on stage. Both lauded the young star’s talent.

    With hit like Farmer, Superman, Munnakampala, Benda’s energetic act thrilled the audience, prompting them to groove the night away. His performance was accompanied by dancer Eddy Wheezy, Saxophonist Happy K and an adept backup band.​​
