The newly revamped Rock bar (next to Speke Hotel) is anything, but boring. The bar has seen refurbishments in almost every facet of it’s business. And while the rest of Kampala is excited about the reduction and discounted prices on their new theme nights, the comedy fanatics also have something in store for them.

Rumor has it that on 6th Feb, the bar will be debuting a new theme night. The theme night, dubbed Comedy Night is being run by veteran comedian, Bright Onak assisted by Solomon Muleyi of by MuleyiPr.
When called to confirm, Bright Onak expressed excitement about his new gig.

“The bar which has been largely innovated, with all the prostitutes chased away, will have new theme nights for the whole of the week. The aim of this is to transform the bar back to its deserved glory as the biggest most hospitable bar in Kampala. And if there is a theme night that is going to achieve that, it is the newly introduced Comedy night which is dubbed, Rock Comedy. We are in the process of putting together an experience like no other. A fusion of comedy, dance artistry, musical artistry and poetry. The kind of experience Uganda hasn’t seen in a long time. We are debuting on 6th Feb, and will announce the comedians as and when we finalize logistical plans” relayed Bright Onak when called to confirm.

Bright Onak has been off the comedy scene for about a year now, with many wondering what he has been up to. The obvious case, since his involvement with MuleyiPr has been event organization and public relations. But not many had foreseen that he was shooting for an own show. It thus comes as a surprise and good news to many of his fans that he is back into the comedy business. Especially given that Bright Onak is one of the pioneers of the Ugandan Comedy Industry, and that given his experience, the show will surely be a force to reckon with.

Our sources also confirm that the show will be funded by Rajeev Ruparelia, a director in the Ruparelia Group of Companies.
