The Uganda Cranes became the fourth team to confirm early exit in the ongoing Africa Nations Championship in Morocco after falling 0-1 to Namibia on Thursday 19th January night.
The Cranes lost their opening game 1-3 to Zambia and needed maximum points on day two to increase their chances of progression. Despite enjoying great possession and registering 19 shots -five on target-, it was the debutantes who had the last laugh with a well-executed goal deep in the added minutes.
Second half substitute, Panduleni Nekundi, received a pass from Itamunua Keimuine before smashing past Watenga. Uganda finished the match with ten men after Timothy Awany was sent off for a foul in the 76th minute.
Namibia and Zambia qualified to play in the quarter finals with one game to spare in the groups. The Chipolopolo had beaten Ivory Coast 2-0 in the first match of the day.
