Flying Squad operative survives lynching


Former Flying Squad operative Fred Katongole is fighting for his life after he survived being lynched by a mob who found him red handed robbing in a taxi around Wankulukuku in Rubaga division.

Katongole who is a resident of Namugongo was a friend to the late Kato Pius and Henry Majwega who were killed in a robbery by police at Bweyogerere and Kasangati in 2012 and 2014 respectively.

They are also reported to have been working as notorious robbers under the command of Faisal Katende who is now facing criminal charges in court Marshal and Fred Kiwana who also killed in in robbery in Ndeeba in 2015.

Katongole was once arrested in October 2014 when the then police spokesperson now MP Judith Nabakooba was beaten by criminals.

Katongole was arrested and charged with robbery and a gun was also recovered from his home in Namungona, luyinja.
He was detained for three years but upon return he was mysteriously reinstated into Flying squad as an operative
