Hundreds of International Society of Krishna Consciousness believers jammed up Kampala streets as they marched to celebrate peace and love for humanity in Kampala on Saturday.
The 13th edition of the annual festival themed one family under one God was also attended by Hare Krishna representatives from South Africa, Kenya and Unite Kingdom.
Led by their Chairman in Uganda, Mukesh Shuklah a prominent Kampala business man the group marched from Dewinton Street to Nakasero Hindu temple where they participated in charity, dinned and danced.
Mukesh encouraged the entire public to embrace love for one other and promote global peace as yardstick to human development.
“Let’s not hate each other because of politics, ethnicity and other differences .we are one family under one God so we should promote peace together,”Mukesh said.
Mukesh who also doubles as chairman for Global Peace Foundation in Uganda used the occasion to announce global peace leadership conference that Uganda will be hosting this week at Speke Resort Hotel Munyonyo from 1st to 3rd August.
According to Mukesh,the global peace conference will run under the theme moral models for sustainable peace and development.
It’s expected to attract over 1500 people including enteprenuers, politicians, heads of states and law makers from entire world
Global Peace Foundation President Milton Kambula cautioned teachers and entire humanity to practice and embrace kindenss, peace and love for mankind as component of achieving global peace.
Celebrating the festival teachers from 37 schools were recognized and awarded certificates, given trophies and cash money for their resilience and exhibiting high integrity, ethics,promotion of peace and good leadership skills by Global Peace Foundation.
