East or west, home is the best and Finally, local musician Ronald Mayinja is back home at the Makindye based Golden band music group just days after announcing that he had parted ways with one of the celebrated music group.
Mayinja announced recently that he had left his darling job at Golden band alleging that his busy schedule couldn’t cope up with the expectations of the group as a musician hence making a big decision of foregoing studio work and stage performances to move on with other pending issues.
“I decided to quit Golden band because I am busy lately with school and other duties, which made it difficult for me to perform at the band’s shows and attend the band’s other programs,” Mayinja said.
I went back to study in an adult program at Makerere University and it takes a lot of my time. The band has been organizing shows, some in areas distant from Kampala and putting me on the lineup of performers, and sometimes am forced to disappoint them because of my busy schedule. I didn’t want that to continue this year,” the ‘Africa’ singer explained.
We have ascertained that after a lengthy board of directors meeting that was held at Jahazi Pier Munyonyo last Wednesday 9th January 2019, Ronald Mayinja cemented his presence in the band lamenting that since he didn’t hand any resignation letter to the management, it was obvious that he was still part of the winning combination.
Speaking to our reporter, Golden Band’s Grace Ssekamate has confirmed that Ronald Mayinja is finally back at Golden Band and ready to move on with his musical career revealing to us that his fellow singer had decided to move on with live out of music after sighting irregularities in the band which according to him were leading them to doom.
Accordingly, Mayinja was not happy with the character of fellow band mates mention the rampant absenteeism from work and the new manager that was driving the band since manager Kavuma aka KT had decided to quit on grounds that he was too busy with events promotions to the extent that he couldn’t give in his whole to the music group.
Golden Band was formed after the split of the original Eagles Production in 2014 with Mesach Semakula, Ronald Mayinja, Maureen Nantume, Stecia Mayanja, Grace Sekamatte, Catherine Kusasira, Fred Seruga and others decided to form Golden Band while Geoffrey Lutaaya and his wife Irene Namatovu formed Da New Eagles with Stecia Mayanja quitting September 2018 to join Kream Productions.
