Pomp as Exim Bank opens new branch

By Solomon Muleyi
Bank branch openings are often boring, and full of speeches that should be for the board room. But not for yesterday evening’s Exim Bank branch opening. On arrival, around 4:30pm, the guests were shown to their cocktail tables, and seats, by a group of stunning ushers.

The master of ceremonies, the humorous Joel Senyonyi was in his element, as he orchestrated the day’s agenda. First, it was the ribbon cutting, to signify the launch of the new 6th Street branch.
Then came the cocktail time, before C.E.O Mr. Sabhapathy Krishnan and Chairperson of board of directors, Mrs. Sarah Nanziri Bagalaaliwo gave their remarks at the launch of the 5th Exim Bank Branch in Uganda.

Mr Sabhapathy explained that although the bank is launching new branches, the real focus is on digital banking. CDM, Visa Debit card, a USSD- Mobile App, and an OMNI channel will all be available to the bank’s clients.
The Exim Bank staff, media, delegates from Bank of Uganda, and the different stakeholders present later shared cake, and were thereafter, treated to a snack buffet.
