Over the weekend, blacks in America were guzzling drinks of all sorts after getting entertained by fellow African musicians who were invited in a musical event that lit up for three consecutive nights. Our own made singer Irene Ntale was among them with lots of excitement after being handed the opportunity to represent code #256 at this years’ South-by-South West (SXSW) festival in the US.
Organized by Okay Africa, SXSW is a digital platform dedicated to enhance African culture, music and politics, together with Bavent Street and the event is featuring some of African performing acts mention Adekunle Gold,Falz,Efya,Sauti Sol, Simi,Yemi Alade Stonebwoy, Victoria Kimani not forgetting our own Irene Ntale among others.
SXSW is an annual multi-genre, multi medium showcasing festival of film, interactive media, music festival and conferences that take place in mid-March in Austin, Texas, United States of America.
More like our very own ‘Nyege Nyege’ festival, the event that kick started on 14th March 2019 was featuring over 35 African artists performing on one stage on a schedule of 3 nights at Highland Lounge in Austin.
The ‘Pen$ paper’ singer managed to make it to the States in company of her manager and sister, Sandra Ntale.“What An Amazing & Humbling Experience here at @sxsw Festival ! !! The Level of Artistry in this placeAm in Awe Happy to be here and Share my gift with the world @sandrantale #penandpaper #morepicsloading #music #showcase,”Irene Ntale has stated on her social Media Facebook platform.
