Kwegonza Avenue fest attracts hundreds

Hundreds of the Banyakitara community thronged Hilltop Nardens Naguru to the catch the 3rd Edition of the Empako Yange Kwegonza Avenue

Empako Yange is a foundation that was formed with the sole intention of bringing the Banyakitara Youth together that gives something back to the land that gives birth to the Batooro and Banyoro.

The Banyakitara hail from the districts of Hoima, Masindi and Kibale (Banyoro) and Kabarole, Kamwenge, Kyegegwa, Kyenjojo and Ntoroko districts (Batoro).

Unique to Bunyoro and Toro are praise names, Empaako

Empako Yange is a fora for every Mutooro and Munyoro Youth irrespective of age, sex and ethnicity.

Its attached to strong customary attributes that contribute to society through beauty, respect and the courage to embrace human nature.

Empaako: It was all fun and pet names during the fest that brings the Banyakitara youth together

Just like the old African people who had the knowledge about their way of life and understood human character for the desire to have respect for one another, they composed identify names called Empaako. (Empaako names Abwooli, Adyeeri, Araali, Akiiki, Atwooki, Abbooki, Apuuli, Abbala, Acaali, Ateenyi and Amooti) It is by these that we identify ourselves.

One of the organizers and the CEO founder George Nyamweha Amooti hailed people who turned up for the event for the love they have for their region.
