Nine women activists have been arrested for demonstrating over Pastor Aloysius Bugingo’s apology to his wife Teddy. His apology has come following his recent comments that he tolerated Teddy for 10 years even when she had fistula.

The suspects include eight women and one man identified as Edison Kakuru who were arrested from Bat Valley Primary School where they had converged to work on a petition set to be presented before Speaker of Parliament, Hon. Rebecca Kadaga.

They are currently being held at Wandegeya Police Station as police continues to investigate the matter

“Imagine the hustle we have to go through to explain to our children such kind of behaviour,” Sophie Gombya, a woman activist and musician said. According to the activists, Bugingo should be punished to serve as an example for other men planning to do the same.

The same activists had planned to buy cotton wool and sanitary pads on Sunday with an aim of delivering it to Bugingo. It should be recalled that Bugingo had complained that Teddy bled for ten years, a period he has been buying pads and missing sex.

Bugingo now wants to end his 29-year marriage with Teddy after she reportedly accused him of adultery.

Other celebrities who have taken it to social media to condemn Bugingo’s actions include singer Juliana Kanyomozi, MP Winnie Kizza, Sheila Gashumba, among others.
