Jazzville Bar.  Silk Liquid. DNA Lounge.  The list of Kampala’s affluent clubs and bars which are no more goes on and on and latest to join the infamous list is Amnesia.   After eight years, Amnesia, located on Jinja road had carved out as the haunt of choice.  It is set to close today (Thursday) August 1, bringing an end to yet another golden age of clubbing.

The bar that has been open five days a week offering a fresh experience and bringing more to the Kampala night life with a variety of themes will this Thursday 1 August, 2019 be throwing it’s last party.

With effect from Friday 2nd August 2019, Club Amnesia will be no more!   Whereas many assumed the club’s closure had something to so with figures of clubbers drastically dropping, Dr Innocent Nahabwe provides an alternative opinion.

In a statement issued by Dr. Innocent Nahabwe, he said: “We have realised that in the nightclub business, everyone is drinking from near their homes – mostly in open spaces. Closed bars are phasing out. We have therefore, taken the step to close Club Amnesia with effect from Friday 2nd August 2019 with the party on Thursday 1st August 2019 being our last,” said Dr. Innocent Nahabwe, the Co-Founder & Managing Director of Club Amnesia.

He also thanked the landlords. “We are also thankful to our landlord, Mr. Rajiv Ruparelia and his dad Sudhir Ruparelia who have been good hosts. I hope we have been good tenants. We will remain at the building as a restaurant that serves the true Uganda dish- Katogo 24/7,” Dr. Nahabwe said.
