KCCA signs Express pony tailed defender, raises dust

Kampala City Council Authority Football Club website was down for a couple of months until last week. This gave the club’s communication department an official platform to circulate accurate news to the public.

Though, as you read this, they wish it was still down by the time the Lugogo based club finalized the signing of former Express FC captain and Uganda Cranes defender John Revita on Tuesday afternoon as a typo while describing the ponytailed player reduced them to a laughing stock.

“The pornytailed (sic) Uganda Cranes defender arguably one of the best passers of the ball in the local league has previously played for Bukavu Dawa FC in Democratic Republic of Congo before joining Express FC in 2018/19 season where he was handed the captain’s armband in the second round,” read part of the story which was pulled down hours after heavy bashing.

However, before the initial story was replaced with the edited version, screenshots having the vulgar word ‘Porntailed’ that would Ethics and integrity state minister Fr. Simon Lokodo were already doing rounds.

Fast forward, Revita’s move to KCCA FC has raised a lot of dust thus seeing the stylish defender sign new fans and enemies at the same time.

At an undisclosed fee, he is to play for the Kasasiro team until August 2021.

But he has to deal with the harsh sendoff from Express fans. Unlike Red Eagles club Chairman Kiryowa Kiwanuka who respected his decision on twitter and wished him the best.

“Revita is an accomplished footballer Express will definitely miss him. It’s sad he could not stay with us. But players must have the freedom to find their comfort zone. All the best John. Remain focused and use your God given talent.”

Kiryowa was calling upon his troops to let Revita be and stop the social media attacks such as. “Good players are retained so if a club doesn’t take an effort to keep you, just know you aren’t worth to be at the club. This club can groom so many players and yes we have witnessed so many players leave this great club and no one still talks about them.,” one of the heartbroken fan, Allen VioletOzil Nabagereka posted.
