What is the perfect drink for a rugby game?? Beer of course and the first 1000 fans to enter Kyadondo before 4pm will be getting some free beer!
Rugby Cranes title sponsor Nile Special has teamed up with Uganda Rugby Union to offer free beer to lucky fans at the final home game of the Victoria Cup this Saturday against Zambia.
“We want our boys (players) to have a vibrant fan base behind them. So to the 1000 early birds, each will receive a coupon which he or she will present to any of the selling points for a cold Nile Special,” Brand manager Francis Nyende told this paper.
The move is to reward the big fan base that has suffered with the team for the last two home games; losing to Kenya and Zimbabwe.
The most painful one being against the Simba’s of Kenya were crates of Nile Special and fully stocked refrigerators with wordings ‘this beer is on us if Uganda wins’ were left untouched in the fan zone after a disappointing day in office.
Away from the free beer, Nyende added that there will be surprise performances from; deejays, musicians and comedians after the game at the behind pitch which will host the after party.
Fast forward, inside the camp, Rugby Cranes skipper Asuman Mugerwa is confident that his charges will tame Zambia and give thousands of fans a smile come game day.
“We need this win and most importantly, for the fans. We can’t afford to blunder again. With their support in the stands, we will be like a wounded lion on the pitch.”
With the return of his Vice, Justin Kimono together with Brian Asaba, Ian Munyani and Michael Wokorach it is full house apart from Robert Aziku who broke his nose during a training session.
