Start QT Awards 2019 Nominee List released ahead of October showdown

The 2019 edition of the hugely anticipated StarQt Awards is up and rolling after the organizers released a shortlist of the nominees for the various categories.

South Africa based Ugandan fashion designer and lead organiser of the awards; Stella Nankya revealed that this year’s edition will be bigger and better.

According to Nankya, the 6th Annual StarQT Awards are scheduled to take place on 26th October 2019 at the Edenvale Hall in Johannesburg, South Africa where performing artistes like Saxophonist Kirya Kuti and Sheebah Karungi are the main acts.

She revealed that the Star QT Awards that started out by recognizing outstanding Ugandans based in South Africa have since been diversified.

She says that the STAR QT Awards are diverse society awards and now encompass the fields of lifestyle, entertainment, unsung heroes, business community, global and sports among others

She reveals that the mission since 2014 is to unite, acknowledge, recognize, celebrate and reward ground breakers that impact on their societies with drive that push others to greater heights and achieve their goals.

“Everything we do is fuelled by our passion of celebrating the power of unity, acknowledging whose actions and hard work have impacted on the societies as we set inspiration to the rest targeting development among all,” she says.

Nankya also reveals that support for the Star QT awards has come from a growing list of top celebrities and influential people around the continent which has opened doors to other world country nationals to participate and get nominated making it bigger and better

Fresh Kid is also lined up for an award at the Star QT Awards

“In  previous awards, we only recognized the outstanding Ugandans based here but this time round, we have chosen to also include our fellow outstanding Africans; from all over the continent in a bid to appreciate their exceptional contribution towards making life better in this country,” she said.

Among the Ugandan celebrities to grace the nomination list is Fresh Daddy, Fresh Kid, Sheebah, Vinka, Coco Finger, and Anita Beryl among a host more.  Below is the nomination list.
