It is a public secret that Federation of Uganda Football Association takes the lion’s share of the national sports cake.
This has seen other stakeholders cry foul play, such as Uganda Boxing Federation boss, Moses Muhangi.
The fight has been in the media for months and as you read this, it has caught the attention of the Parliament of Uganda who are inquiring about the direct handouts to the football governing body.
A Committee on Education and Sports want answers from ministry of Finance led by the Permanent Secretary to the Treasury, Keith Muhakanizi as to why sh10b was directly advanced to the FUFA and not through the National Council of Sports.
It is in this light that Muhangi and team believe that there is injustice which should be checked and ironed out to enable other sports disciplines strengthen their grassroots and honour their year calendars without financial hiccups.
On Wednesday, he paid a courtesy visit to Hon. Speaker of the Republic of Uganda Rebecca Kadaga and took her through what he referred to as ‘the struggle against sports funding injustice to the board rooms! Watch the space!’
