Uganda’s ‘Bed Of Thorns’ wins at LAHFF Awards

Bed of Thorns won the Africa Focus Award at the London Art House Film Festival (LAHFF) over the weekend. The film was produced and directed by Eleanor Nabwiso an actress and film director.

Eleanor Nabwiso is best known for her role as Hope in the Hostel Television series that aired between 2011 to 2015, Nabwiso is married to Nabwiso who is also an actor.

“We want to thank the Almighty, the entire cast and crew of #bedofthorns #movie for winning the Africa Focus Award at the @lahff-uk and thanks to all family friends and fans for the continuous support”, she posted on her Instagram.

Bed of thorns started premiering early this year on 30th March with an aim of addressing the issues of gender-based violence. It was popularized with ‘Tosirika’ word which means ‘Don’t keep quiet’ and it was meant to raise awareness about violence against women as a celebration of the women’s month of March.

The movie featured a number of popular figures like Martha K, comedian Patrick Salvado Idringi, Malaika Nnyanzi,Sara Kisawuzi, Housen Mushema,  Diana Kahunde, Agnes Kebirungi and Michael Wawuyo.
