The Uganda National Cultural Centre started its second edition of the Arts and Culture festival with style. Performances by the Indian troupe, regional cultural groups and musicians Sarah Ndagire, Annet Nandujja and guitarist Mike Ouma created memorable moments for the audience.
The event started with a symposium, stage plays, poetry and workshops for both dancers and writers.

During the official opening, Hon Peace Jane Mutuuzo the state Minister for Gender, Labour and social development revealed that it was no longer necessary for performers to ask government weyayu like musician Eddy Kenzo or meander in political movements like Full Figure because President Museveni is set to have a three days retreat with all performers and creators.

“I want to assure you that soon, we shall have a three day retreat for all cultural performers, creative industry practitioners because we are straightening out how to improve the creative industry and put it on world map. And this retreat will be graced by the President,” she said.
