Hima Cement Heathens did not have the nerve to control the pressure mountain Betway Kobs and in the 80th minute they broke down and conceded a try and conversion that handed Kobs a 15-14 Uganda Cup victory at the Kings Park Ground in Bweyogerere. Robert Aziku and Ivan Kirabo scored the try and conversion respectively to send Kobs in celebrations. The victory handed the Kampala old boys (Kobs) their seventh Uganda Cup, but was the second trophy by caretaker coach Davis Kiwalabye who remained speechless after the game.

“I am overwhelmed by the results. I did not believe that we could win this,” Kiwalabye said after the game. Heathens led the game for 79 minutes having got a try and then three penalties by Joseph Oyet to lead 14-8 before Kobs fought back to score a try and a conversion to seal the score 15-14. They received the trophy from Uganda Rugby Union President Godwin Kayangwe in the presence of Vivo Energy Managing Director Gilbert Assi and Pirates chairman Eric Butime.
