Kenyan long-haulage truck drivers will have to go a mandatory Corona Virus test 48 hours before travelling to neighbouring countries.
The move was announced on Thursday (May 7) by the Cabinet Secretary James Macharia. It is aimed at neutralizing the disease. The announcement comes at a time Kenya is battling close to 600 Covid-19 cases.
Macharia further said that the same directive applies to drivers entering Kenya from other countries. And their certificates must be renewed every after 14 days which is the incubation period for Coronavirus. “All truck drivers going to neighbouring countries have to be tested 48hrs before departure.
