Her facebook post on Tuesday read “You still the G.O.A.T even after three years of your passing. The game has never been the same since you left, December’s are no longer the same, obubalaza here in SA ain’t the same, pop bottle games not the same, your giving heart was never matched. You were the ‘UN office for all’. Everyone else is just clowning or chasing clout. Your shoes are too big to fit/fill.
Continue resting in peace champ, three years already, but it seems like yesterday. We love you and miss you always #TheDon.
Before Ivan Ssemwanga passed on, the spendthrift socialite had spent weeks admitted at Steve Biko Hospital in Pretoria where his ex-wife, Zari took care of him.
He later died on Thursday, May 25, 2017 morning and Monday marked three years ever since he passed on.
According to fellow socialite and ex-wife, Zari Hassan, Ivan passed on in the wee hours. The mother of Ssemwanga’s three boys confirmed this on her Facebook page.
Pictures of Semwanga, in a critical condition after reportedly going into cardiac arrest had been making rounds for weeks.
In a touching post hours after his death, she wrote, “God loves those that are special and that is exactly who you were & I guess that is why he wanted you to himself. You have touched and helped thousands, you did wonders and I remember you telling me “life is too short Zee let me live it to the fullest”.
The body of the deceased was brought back to Uganda on May 28, 2017 (Sunday) and a vigil was held at his home in Muyenga, Uganda that night.
Ivan’s body was then taken to Namirembe Cathedral on May 29, 2017 (Monday) for church prayers before he was taken to Kayunga for burial.
Ivan was buried on May 30, 2017 (Tuesday) in his ancestral home in Kayunga, Uganda in attendance of different celebrities and locals.
Days after Ivan’s burial, rumors started circulating that Ivan had faked his death and he was in South Africa enjoying life.
In an exclusive interview, Zari (Ivan’s ex-wife) disclosed how Ivan’s dead body was checked out of Entebbe International Airport through South Africa Airways using a fake name and a fake death certificate, Ali Sennyomo.
