Irene Namubiru hints on musical comeback

Irene Gladys Namubiru, also known as Iryn Namubiru, is arguably one of the best Ugandan female vocalists of all time.

The mother of two boys has been musically silent for sometime a thing that has had her fans and music critics troubled.

However, with recent pictures of her recording in studio, she hinted on a new album yet to be mastered and released.

In the pictures, she is seen posing with one of Uganda’s celebrated writers a one Yese Oman Rafiki.

The Route entertainment boss and singer has for years written hit songs for various artists like Vinka, Nwagi, Bebe Cool, Vivian Tendo and others.

Bomba Muzik (also in the picture) is believed to have produced half of her songs on this album and has with in a short time managed to penetrate through the competitive production industry.

Many music critics have termed this as Irene’s come back since the industry is facing a musical drought.

She had her first major attempt at success in the music industry in 1995 when she joined singers Ragga Dee and Messe in the group Da Hommies.

Together with Juliana Kanyomozi, her former schoolmate at Namasagali College they formed ‘ I Jay’ an RnB all girl group in 1999.

The Nkuweki singer in November 2018 survived an accident in Lake Victoria where a cruise boat carrying party revellers capsized, killing 33 people.
