Rozina Negusei, wife to famous singer and American rapper Akon has revived back the lost hope amongst Ugandan artists following the pandemic impacts, some being short and others long-term. The move follows her interest in our own local entertainment industry. She is an entrepreneur and the president/ CEO of Zonar entertainment, Entreeg records and Entreeg entertainment Group.
Rozina is on the invitation of the East African partner’s managing director Isaac Kigozi and she spoke to journalists during a presser held at Latitude Hotel in Makindye over the weekend. She is currently residing at the same venue.
” We are here to explore new opportunities in Uganda, we are focused on investing in Agriculture, solar, and real estate. Our main focus is to see how we can help bridge the gap between East and West Africa in terms of trade and business at all levels”, she said, adding that she seeks to have a clear understanding of the several opportunities that Uganda offer in the identified sectors.
She also observed that they wanted to bring entertainment in Africa looking for a hub, a home that would be the African Hollywood. ” America became America now because of agriculture but because of the entertainment industry. If we bring entertainment whether music or movie awards every year , Uganda can become the home of the entertainment industry”, she noted. Rozina also revealed that for the beginning, she has availed $ 12 m, which is equivalent to Sh44b as the investment package for five years.
Apparently, she is here for business that involves the promotion of Uganda’s entertainment industry.
