Fresh Daddy (real name Paul Mutabazi) has hinted at why promoters have not considered him for performances on shows lately.
“Promoters can not afford me. I am too expensive for them. They want to give us 1m or Sh700,000 and yet my rate card is sh3m and above,” he bragged to a journalist.
He however promised that for the sake of his fans, he is going to negotiate with his management so that the price is lowered, and his fans can enjoy his craft at a subsidized fee.
“I have five songs and out of these, at least three are hits, so I am worth that money. However, I am going to talk to my management so that we can see if we can lower the price because my fans need to see me live…,” he promised
This comes after several musicians in Uganda, led by Bebe Cool, expressed dissatisfaction with the way they are paid. Fresh Daddy became popular his son Fresh Kid, made headlines in Uganda as a child rapper. He outed his comedy songs “Mazike”, “machupa”, and now “kiki kyobaza”.
